The name of this artwork was chosen by the person it was created for. She shared that an Elder on the Sunshine Coast helped her discover that the Currawong is her totem. She had often noticed the same bird appearing throughout her life, especially during challenging times. For many years she didn't know what kind of bird it was—it would appear, watch her quietly for a moment, then fly away. It wasn't until her late thirties that she discovered it was a Currawong. Since then, it has continued to appear, becoming a symbol of guidance, connection and comfort.
